NEW YORK - The Sarah Jane Brain Foundation announced the launch of a new initiative on the first day of Brain Injury Awareness Month - the creation of Sarah Jane Brain Clubs in high schools, colleges and graduate schools across the country. The first Sarah Jane Brain Club (SJB Club) was started at one of the top high schools in the country, Jericho High School on Long Island, N.Y. and the first university SJB Club was launched at Harvard University.

MIAMI - The Zackery Lystedt Brain Project, a first-of-its-kind national initiative to address the problem of youth sports concussions in all 50 states, was announced here this week amid Super Bowl preparations. The project is spearheaded by the Sarah Jane Brain Foundation in partnership with the American College of Sports Medicine. The goal of the Zackery Lystedt Brain Project is to advance three core principles throughout the country dealing with youth sports concussions through public awareness, education and training, legislation and advancing research to prevent, identify and treat these brain injuries.

SJBF Founder will testify at Congressional forum on youth sports concussions

HOUSTON - The United States House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary will host a forum entitled, "Head and Other Injuries in Youth, High School, College and Professional Football" on Monday, February 1, 2010, in Houston, Texas. Patrick Donohue, founder of the Sarah Jane Brain Foundation, will participate as a panelist at this forum.

Zackery Lystedt Brain Project to be announced during Super Bowl week; Nationwide Sports Concussion Initiative Begins

MIAMI - A national initiative to reduce sports-related concussions in every state will be announced by Florida Gov. Charlie Crist during Super Bowl week at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. The principles of the initiative were established by the Zackery Lystedt Law in the State of Washington. The Zackery Lystedt Brain Project is spearheaded by the Sarah Jane Brain Foundation in partnership with the American College of Sports Medicine. The Miller School is the foundation's National Lead Center for acute care in brain injury.

SJBF Supports Project Medishare Haitian Relief Effort; FL Governor Crist Headlines Event during Super Bowl Week on Feb 3

The Sarah Jane Brain Foundation announced today it will be donating half of the proceeds from its upcoming fund-raising reception and dinner to Project Medishare's Haitian Relief Effort. The fund-raiser which will be held during Super Bowl week in Miami on February 3 will feature Florida Governor Charlie Crist as the special guest (see details below).
